About FISiM

FISiM, the Italian Foundation of Myelodysplastic Syndromes, is a non profit organization that operates nationally for the study and treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS):

• It promotes and carries out scientific research in the field of myelodysplastic syndromes
• It represents the largest Italian association in the MDS field
• It spreads correct information about myelodysplastic syndromes

Estabilished in 2011, FISiM and has been the natural evolution of AISSM Onlus (Italian Association for the Study of Myelodysplastic Syndromes) founded in 2004. By acquiring the legal status of a foundation, FISiM has become able  to sponsor clinical trials.

FISiM manages the largest Italian collection of clinical data related to myelodysplastic  patients, a basis for understanding prognosis and treatment.

FISiM works every day to ensure that MDS patients have the best care available to fight the MDS. For this reason, it has always been considered very important to share the scientific research activities of the Foundation in the best  possible way on the territory.

It operates in most Italian regions through Hematology departments and hematologists working in other departments involved in FISiM initiatives.

FISiM is a non profit organization, as it exclusively pursues social solidarity purposes, in particular promoting scientific research in the field of MDS.
